When rebuilding the Independent Power Take-Off (IPTO) unit detailed in Part 6, the installation sequence of the driven gears is highly critical; the 1000 rpm driven gear must be supported rearwards while inserting the 540 rpm gear to successfully engage the front spigot, followed by strict adherence to the output shaft seal installation using a 3.75 in (95 mm) sleeve to prevent pressure leaks.
