Foreword
This manual provides instructions for the complete overhaul of Kohler Magnum twin cylinder engines. Accurate measurement of the piston-to-bore clearance is critical; never use a feeler gauge for this task—a micrometer is required. Style D pistons must always be installed with the "Fly" mark pointing towards the flywheel side. To prevent damage to the electronic ignition module, never connect 12 volts to the module or any wire connected to the kill terminal.
