When overhauling the Range Command transmission, ensure the synchronizer potentiometers are correctly centered using the 'HJ' mode to avoid premature cone wear. For engine work, the Keystone tapered compression rings must be installed with the 'TOP' mark facing up to maintain critical cylinder sealing.
